How to make a frappuccino at home
A frappuccino is a beverage that consists of a coffee or creme base with additional ingredients. You can choose to blend with ice and top with whipped cream and other sauces.
Here’s a really basic recipe that you can then modify based on your flavor preferences.
(for a grande sized frappuccino)
- 1-2 Tbsp instant coffee or a shot of espresso
- ½ cup milk of choice
- 2 cups ice
- Pinch of xanthan gum (acts as a thickener)
- Step 1. Add a small amount of water just enough to dissolve instant coffee. Your goal here is to create a concentrated coffee flavor. Alternatively, use a shot of espresso.
- Step 2. Add your milk of choice. The more fat in the milk, the creamier your drink will be. We prefer this stuff, but lots of people might opt to go for this instead.
- Step 3. (optional) Throw into a blender with xantham gum and other ingredients, then blend to desired consistency.
- Step 4. Pour out and enjoy!
